On a 47-19 vote, the Senate gave its final approval to the conference committee agreement to SF 1, a bill designed to offer financial relief to individuals purchasing health care in the individual market. The House is expected to pass the compromise bill, and Governor Mark Dayton is expected to sign it. The $326 million dollar plan, which uses money from the budget reserves, will provide a 25 percent health insurance premium reduction for the 123,000 Minnesotans who purchase health insurance in the individual market, but whose incomes exceed the threshold for federal subsidies. It also allocates $15 million dollars to allow Minnesotans undergoing treatment for a specific list of serious illnesses to keep their doctor if their network is changing. The bill was stymied for a time as...

Uruguay is emerging as one of South America’s favorite destinations. Its capital Montevideo has a warm, temperate climate, pleasant sea breezes and miles of boulevards. From Montevideo’s Telecommunications Tower you can see the hill that gave the city its name. Another tower, the Palacio Salvo looms high above the Plaza Independencia in the City Center. Under this square is the mausoleum for the country’s revolutionary hero José Artigas. Nearby Plaza Matriz is the city’s oldest square and home to the 18th-century Metropolitan Cathedral, the focal point of Uruguay’s Old Town. Soccer is big here and in 1930 Uruguay hosted and won the first-ever FIFA World Cup in the Estadio Centenario. Another proud local tradition is “parrilla" and the best way to try it is to buy cuts of meat in the M...

https://www.expedia.com/Budapest.d179994.Destination-Travel-Guides The Hungarian capital, Budapest, is situated on the banks of the Danube in Central Europe. It’s the political, economic and cultural heart of the nation, and one of the most beautiful and livable cities on the continent. For a sweeping overview of the city head to the Buda side of the Danube and take in the views from the 19th century ramparts on Gellért Hill. Just upriver is Budapest’s oldest area, The Castle District, home to Buda Castle, Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion. Once you’ve explored the heights of Castle Hill, cross the Széchenyi Chain Bridge to the Pest side of the city and follow the riverbank upstream to Hungary’s Parliament Building. Nearby, pay your respects at the Shoes on the Danube Memorial,...
https://www.expedia.com/Warsaw.d178317.Destination-Travel-Guides For centuries Warsaw has been a center of refinement and knowledge. Its strategic position has also made it one of the most invaded countries in Europe. Shaped by history’s defining events, World War Two, and the closing of the Iron Curtain, Warsaw is a survivor, and has risen from the ashes of war and the shackles of Communism. Its true heart is its Old Town, the site of the Warsaw Uprising, one of the most heroic resistance actions ever seen against the nazis. After the war much of it, such as the opulent Royal Castle, was painstakingly rebuilt. One of the few statues not destroyed by the German army, is the mermaid Syrena, the symbol and protector of Warsaw. Visit St Johns Cathedral and St Anne’s Church, whose interio...

https://www.expedia.com/Monaco.d6050648.Destination-Travel-Guides Fabulously wealthy and gilded by history, the Principality of Monaco lies on the French Riviera in Western Europe. Smaller than New York’s Central Park, this graceful destination is bordered by France and the sparkling Mediterranean sea. With ancient streets full of exotic cars, a natural harbour filled with super yachts and a glittering royal legacy, Monaco is a tiny relic of medieval Europe that has made itself at home in the 21st century. It draws the rich, the famous and those seeking the kind of lifestyle usually only found on the silver screen.

In this week's episode we're in the liberal, lazy and left-leaning capital of Uruguay, Montevideo! This is one of the most interesting cities we have visited and while the old town can feel like a ghost town at times, overall we really liked the energy and mentality of this seaside city. Casual, handheld footage from our June vacation to beautiful, natural Uruguay! Shot on Canon T3i. Locations include: Montevideo, Colonia, Punta Del Este, Minas, Canalones, San Ramon, Maldonado, La Paloma, Punta Del Diablo, Pirapolis and Rocha. http://wikitravel.org/en/Uruguay Uruguay is a welcoming country that offers a peaceful, genuinely laid-back culture that is notably distant from the world's current conflicts and troubles. Uruguayans are an inclusive, conversational and happy people. We were delighted that Montevideo, Uruguay's capital city boasts a relaxed atmosphere, is affordable and also has a thriving artistic community. With bountiful natural resources and a high quality of life, it's no wonder this country is also a popular destination for expatriates and digital nomads.
